Strong t-storm winds, or even downburst winds, can create areas of blowing dust during the Monsoon. Blowing dust can quickly reduce visibility, posing hazards to travelers and motorists. REMEMBER to #PullAsideStayAlive #Monsoon2k25

Today’s Monsoon Awareness Week topic is Lightning! Lightning is the MOST UNDERRATED weather hazard! Lightning makes every single thunderstorm a potential killer, whether the storm produces one single bolt or ten thousand bolts. #Monsoon2k25

After a major wildfire, downstream locations are highly susceptible to debris flow, a type of flash flooding. Heavy rain can collect rocks, trees, & other debris that can sweep away vehicles & destroy bridges. If you encounter a debris flow, get to higher ground! #Monsoon2K25

Did you know extreme heat is the #1 weather-related killer each year? Take the right precautions to keep yourself cool. This includes wearing light-colored, loose-fitting clothing, drinking plenty of water when outside, & limiting outdoor activities. #Monsoon2k25
