@foundmyfitness Lack of sleep also causes heart issues, no? I remember seeing articles about Daylights saving time causing heart attacks when they lose 1hr, so difficult to know if its the melatonin or the people using it having sleep issues.

Does using melatonin raise heart failure risk? A preliminary (not peer-reviewed) conference abstract reported that adults with insomnia with ≥1 year of documented melatonin use had a 90% higher 5-year rate of heart failure and 3.5x more hospitalizations than adults without a documented use of melatonin. There are some major caveats: this is observational (an association, not causation), the database mixed countries where melatonin is over-the-counter vs prescription, and insomnia severity and other psychiatric conditions weren’t captured. Importantly, randomized trials in people with established heart failure show no harm from melatonin use and some signals of benefit including better quality of life and improved ejection fraction. This is an interesting real-world signal that merits peer review and careful follow-up, but it is not proof that melatonin causes heart failure.

@KurdistanWatch Seems like it's Addax owned by Sinopec who took over Genel's share. They were partner before. From a Genel report: "On 24 December 2024, the Company entered into a sale agreement to dispose its share of rights, benefits, liabilities and obligations in Taq Taq PSC to its partner."

Oil production has resumed at the Taq Taq field in Koya (where KRG oil pipeline starts) after being shut for years due to declining output. Current production is around 2,000 barrels per day, and operators expect it to ramp up to roughly 5,000 bpd in the couple coming weeks. Taq Taq sits in Erbil province but falls within the PUK-administered zone. Its restart adds to Hasira, the other producing field in the PUK zone, which is currently pumping about 7,000 bpd. Most other active oil production remains in the KDP zone. Overall, KRG output is now roughly 200,000 barrels per day.

@john78846295 @apikur_oil They signed a deal for three months with "similar economics to the current KRI local oil sales" with oil going to SOMO instead of cash up front? Any chances that Baghdad and KRG will then fight over who pays according to the PSCs after three months?

APIKUR welcomes the interim tripartite and lifting agreements that enable participating IOCs to resume oil exports through the ITP. @apikur_oil hails the leadership of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani of Iraq and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region, for their commitment to resume oil exports through the ITP. The resumption of oil exports benefits all Iraqis and strengthens global energy markets. The interim agreements allow exports to restart in the coming days, while providing a path toward longer-term arrangements. We anticipate exports will resume within a few days.

🚨#Iraq Kurdistan Region oil export update: Statement by the Association of the Petroleum Industry of Kurdistan @apikur_oil
Eight international oil companies (IOCs) that represent together with the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) share, more than 90 percent of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region’s oil production, are pleased to announce that they have reached in principle interim agreements with the Government of Iraq (GOI) and the KRG to resume exports via the Iraq–Türkiye Pipeline.

The exporting companies recognize the leadership of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani of Iraq and his office, whose commitment was essential to reaching this milestone with the interim agreements expected to be signed and ratified in the upcoming days.  We would also like to thank Prime Minister Masrour Barzani of the Kurdistan Region for his unwavering support towards this resolution and our international partners for advancing a mutually satisfactory solution that benefits Iraq, the Kurdistan Region and global energy markets.   This framework, once signed and implemented, should allow exports to restart in the coming days, while providing a path toward longer-term arrangements.  The interim agreements are in compliance with Iraq’s 2023-2025 Budget Law and should then be updated following the completion of an independent consultant’s review.  The agreed framework maintains the sanctity of existing contracts and provides surety of payment to IOCs. The KRG and IOCs also agreed to meet within 30 days of resuming exports to work towards creating a mechanism for settling the outstanding debts owed to IOCs of resuming exports. “We are confident and optimistic that a win-win solution has been found and once fully signed by all relevant stakeholders, crude oil exports from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq will soon resume through the Iraq–Türkiye Pipeline.” said HKN CEO Russell Freeman.
