@LyncolnLynx @TriMess I find modern Subaru headlights to be egregiously bright. Same thing with VW's, rolling laser cannons

@Forgemaster @TriMess It is illegal at the federal level. But so many states have no inspection programs, and many others don't bother to even verify it. Lights work :"Pass". But many factory lights are just obnoxious. TELSA, ACURA - I'm looking at you!🤬

I really hate modern LED headlights. It's nothing at all to do with the age or height of my cars, they're just too bright. I swear modern LED low beams are BRIGHTER than the HIGH BEAMS of a car with halogen headlights. The glare in my glasses gets extremely (actually) tiresome. I have to look over the tops of my glasses like some doddering old man so I can get rid of the glare and see the road clearly. Even HID is way less annoying.

@neokaitiger You can find those little devices with the Japanese FM spectrum. I always thought that would be cool to do, since absolutely nothing will *ever* interfere with your radio transmitter down there. That frequency range is totally unused here in the US.

A man uses a dissolved solids meter to test the water quality of both fresh rainwater and his city tap water, and the results he finds are going shockingly viral, with rainwater measuring almost as pure as it can be at 2 ppm, while his city water is well over 300 ppm. In case you were wondering why it’s illegal to collect rainwater.

@TriMess This should be illegal imo. Putting LED in Halogen enclosures is the WORST.

@Forgemaster Blame the people who put LED and HID headlights in halogen reflector housings. While OEMs can also be problematic, the bigger problem are the wrong bulbs in the wrong housing.

And it was perfectly legal. In a bizarre and spiteful display, a Georgia auto shop owner paid his former employee’s final wages by dumping 91,500 oil-covered pennies in a massive pile on his driveway. Andreas Flaten, a former manager at A OK Walker Autoworks in Peachtree City, Georgia, was owed $915 after resigning over a childcare dispute. When he contacted the U.S. Department of Labor about the delayed paycheck, the shop’s owner, Miles Walker, responded by delivering the exact amount — in pennies coated in thick automotive grease. The messy pile was left on Flaten’s driveway along with a pay stub containing an expletive. The coins were so heavily greased that they were unusable until individually cleaned, turning a simple paycheck into hours of tedious labor. Flaten later reported that the sheer weight of the pennies even deflated the tires of his wheelbarrow while trying to move them. Walker defended the payment, claiming that as long as the employee received the owed amount, the method didn’t matter. Legally, he was correct: U.S. federal law recognizes coins as legal tender and does not specify that wages must be paid in paper currency or via direct deposit. However, the incident sparked widespread outrage and highlighted gaps in worker protections against retaliatory tactics. While the payment itself was technically legal, the U.S. Department of Labor later sued the shop for retaliation and other labor violations, resulting in a court-ordered settlement requiring Walker to pay nearly $40,000 in back wages and damages to Flaten and other employees. This case became a national example of how employers can technically comply with the law while still engaging in petty and humiliating behavior.

@Forgemaster A friend of mine did that in the country. He buried a 5-in steel pipe that was 12 ft long 8 ft into the ground, surrounded the pipe with concrete and filled it with concrete. The car that hit it was completely almost cut in half.
