Nest 2 news. Egg 1 possibly hasn't hatched. It was the palest of the three. Not entirely sure! Nest one: we suspect that egg 2 hasn't hatched, with egg 3 still to come. It's just one of those things. But means more grub for the hatchlings! #FoulshawOspreys #Nature #Cumbria

@Andrew_F_Smith The black eye mask helps reduce glare when they are fishing. So, in effect, Osprey chicks are so cool they are born wearing sunglasses!

Breakfast for Bob. From about 4 hours after hatching, the chicks start eating bits of fish, fed to them by the parents. That's why they treble their weight in the first 8 days! The next Bob should be due some time tomorrowish. #FoulshawOspreys #Nature #Cumbria

Owt going on under there? Not yet! Day 36/37 average incubation days. By this stage chicks can be making sounds inside the egg and starting to tap at the shell with an egg tooth, a special bump on the beak for breaking out. #FoulshawOspreys #Birds #Cumbria

Eggs and legs. Changeover time as 717 flies off. Her blue ring's on her left leg, his is on the right. British Osps are now given blue rings - left leg for Scotland, right for England and Wales to narrow down ID. At 18, White YW is from a time before that!

On nest 2 young 717 checks her eggs. Last year she laid them 3 weeks after the nest 1 eggs. This year both females laid each of their eggs on the same day. If they all hatch and fledge, we'll have 10 Osps flying around in July! #FoulshawOspreys #birds #Cumbria
