So… can @home_assistant run DOOM? Yes! I built a full Home Assistant integration that runs the original DOOM (1993) inside a dashboard. Sensors, session tracking, and an iddqd easter egg. The twist? I didn't write a single line of code. AI did. All of it. 🧵👇

@home_assistant When I got home, I opened VSCode, typed a prompt to @github Copilot (Claude Opus 4.6), and described what I wanted. Less than 2 hours later: a working integration. Backend, frontend card, HACS packaging, translations in 64 languages, documentation. All AI-generated.

@home_assistant It started at the Home Assistant meetup in Cologne. T-Flow (German YouTuber) was wearing a DOOM t-shirt. We joked about the classic "will it run DOOM?" meme. Then we paused. Because technically… there was no reason it couldn't.
