Talk about inspiring!

To all the writers - it occurred to me today how rarely writers get told they’re doing a great job (and no, I’m fine, this isn’t for me.) But it can be a seriously lonely job, lots of time inside your head, too much time staring at a screen, deliberately listening to voices that aren’t real. So tag a writer today and tell them they’re great, and that they’re doing something good. Tell them to keep writing. Tell them those books mean something to you. Because writers do need it, not often, but every now and then. You’d be amazed how rarely we hear it. Thanks lovely readers x

@NextBestPicture I loved this film, but I maintain that if those handful of gross-out scenes weren't there, it would have found a wide, appreciative audience. It's otherwise great filmmaking.

Sean Penn & Dakota Johnson are outstanding together in the 2023 release Daddio. If you’re in need of something easy to digest this weekend, I think you should consider this film, which takes place almost entirely in an NYC taxi cab. The screenplay & acting here is memorable.

"The Pitt" season two finale was not only an hour of great television but reconfirms the series as one of the best written, acted & produced dramas in line with "The Sopranos," "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad" and "Six Feet Under." Sometimes a tough watch, but so worth the effort.

Excellent finale to @hbomax's "DTF St. Louis." Kudos to the superb cast & creator Steven Conrad for 7 unique, twisty & bold episodes. Above the mystery & the sexual component, a profound portrayal of male friendship unlike any I've seen. Won't be for all, but highly recommend.

Is there a panel at @CinemaCon about what exhibitors plan to do about people talking and using their phones in movie theaters? Seems like they should address some of the key reasons why going to the cinema has become a bad experience devoid of common courtesy.
