Gary Sinise

One of the early and great songs I discovered of Mac’s was “Angel's Theme.” When I first heard this lovely melody, I got very emotional. It was stored in his files from his early college days. Mac was just beginning to write on piano and for other instruments and came up with the beautiful melody featuring violin and piano. Not only did I find the recording he made, but I also found his original chart and arrangement. I loved it so much that I brought it to my LT Dan Band music director Ben Lewis and we’ve added it to our set list. Mac’s salute to the troops. In September of 2025, we filmed the song at our Nashville Salutes Heroes event at the Nashville Speedway. This is a special song, one of the first that Mac wrote. Chuck Norris, the martial arts champion who became an iconic action star and led the hit series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” has died. He was 86. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday, and his family posted a statement saying he had died Friday morning: It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone. I turned 71 today, and approaching this birthday I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting on the past year. We, and the world lost Mac Sinise, Gary’s son to a rare form of spinal cancer in January 2024 at 33 years young. He was my son Jake’s drummer for Maudlin Strangers for years and when Mac got sick he gifted his drum kit to Jake. Mac backed me for an awards show. I loved him. An extraordinary talent. Gary is compiling Mac’s music and flew Jake out for the recording of this album. Here is one of the songs. Jake is the redhead wearing the Hawaiian shirt on guitar.
