#Russia: At least 40% of Russia's oil export capacity is at a halt following Ukrainian drone attacks, a disputed attack on a major pipeline and the seizure of tankers, according to Reuters calculations based on market data.
The shutdown is the most severe oil supply disruption in the modern history of Russia, the world's second largest oil exporter, and has hit Moscow just as oil prices exceeded $100 a barrel due to the Iran war.

It would be wise for California to *immediately* consider a CARBOB (gasoline) waiver to reduce risk of future supply problems that could surface with an increased reliance on harder to find imported supplies.

This will likely continue to get extended through the summer but this also will have virtually no impact on regular gas prices, but it will make a slightly cheaper product- E15 available at some pumps (>5% of stations). It could have small adverse effect with more ethanol demand

🇺🇸USA has issued a temporary waiver to expand sales of gasoline blends with 15% ethanol (E15) to combat surging gas prices. E10 is already widely available year-round. The waiver begins May 1 and goes for 20 days, and it can be extended if necessary.

definitely- it's hard to think that things could get so dark and that the root problem continue to go unaddressed. have struggled with that balance some days- letting the events dictate where we're headed, but it's definitely not traditionally been such a major factor.

The effectiveness of the jawboning ties into something I'm seeing at Ceraweek- which is best described as "irrational optimism". The alternative is so daunting to think about, with consequences so grave, that many are choosing optimism even without a solid foundation.

conveniently the only two states that have set records thus far... have cap and trade or "cap and invest" programs that have a huge cost that falls on to consumers.

The DOE/EIA average retail #diesel number is interesting. Not that it's above $5/g; we figured that would happen. But it's well above the AAA price and it is also above the @GasBuddyGuy price. Notable that the DOE/EIA methodology produced such a higher figure.
