Spain are champions of the world! ⚽️🏆 Ferran Torres’ first goal of this year's tournament secured a win for his country and denied Lionel Messi a second straight title in what he has indicated would be his final World Cup match. “I feel sad,” said Messi, who was moved to tears after receiving his runner-up medal and staring into the crowd at Argentina supporters. “But I am aware that we played our hearts out.” #football #worldcup #spain #argentina

Would you trust a robot to deliver your food? In the US, delivery robots have already been causing a stir. Earlier this year, two robots crashed into bus shelters just days apart. UK operators, including Lisa Johnson from Starship Technologies, say it could mean fewer delivery vehicles on our roads. But road safety campaigners, like Tanya Braun Living Streets, warn they could put children, older people and those with disabilities at risk. #robots #delivery #roadsafety

‘It truly gave him his life back’. Five-year-old Edward Willis-Hall was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy when he was just seven-weeks-old. Before receiving treatment, his parents were told he had just a five percent chance of surviving. After campaigning tirelessly, Megan’s son became one of the first children to receive what's been described as the world's most expensive drug, costing £1.79 million for a single dose. Now, the government has announced that all newborn babies in England will be screened for SMA. #spinalmuscularatrophy #nhs #sma

Every baby in England will soon be tested for spinal muscular atrophy shortly after birth. The trial, which will be rolled out by the NHS, should lead to earlier diagnosis of the disease which can cause severe disability and reduced life expectancy - and could lead to SMA testing becoming a permanent feature of birth screening. From October, newborns will start to be offered testing at five days old. Former Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, who has been campaigning for the screening, said the rollout is a “day of hope”. #spinalmuscularatrophy #screening #nhs

There was heartbreak for the Three Lions in the World Cup semi-final after losing 2-1 to Argentina, ending their hopes of bringing football home for the first time since 1966. England took the early lead, but two late goals sent the South American side through. Prince William told the team to hold their heads high, but added he was gutted at the result. There was controversy after the game, as several of the Argentina players held up a flag given to them by their supporters that said "The Falklands Islands are Argentinian." #worldcup #football #england
