GPR wishes a very happy birthday today to Jaime Alguersuari aka DJ Squire! Jaime was briefly the youngest #F1 driver ever (19y 125d) in Hungary 2009 and started 46 GPs for STR with best finishes a pair of 7ths in 2011. At the end of his racing career, he became a full-time DJ!

A very merry birthday today to Volker Weidler! The 1991 Le Mans 24 winner with Mazda and a star of the Japanese scene in the late 80s and early 90s, Weidler took part in the first 10 GPs of 1989 with Rial. Sadly, his weekend usually ended with DNPQs apart from a DNQ in Hungary.

Happy 80th birthday to the one and only Hans Heyer! He's known for quite a lot in the racing world: a successful sportscar career, his "Tyrol" hat, entering the 24h of Le Mans 12 times without ever finishing, and finally... the 1977 German GP. Illegal start - DNQ, DNF and DSQ!

#OnThisDay in 2010, a new F1 season began in Bahrain. On the grid were 3 new teams - Team Lotus, Virgin Racing and last but certainly not least, Hispania Racing Team (HRT)! Only the two Lotuses finished the Grand Prix, with Heikki Kovalainen 15th and Jarno Trulli 17th.
