2/As expected it rehashes many of the same grievance-porn as that prior work: Democracy is evil, the West is Decadent, Russia will protect religion, and will increase its fertility rate to 3.0 (!) by 2050. Here's the original paper, in Russian. web.archive.org/web/2026021507…

And yes, nuclear bunkers, yada yada, end of the world, etc. But he’s had that in play in New Zealand for a decade. Again, optionality and freedom-maxxing. He and his companies still need to be forcefully removed from US government.

Ultimately this is about optionality and regulatory capture and arbitrage. The more governments he has captured, the more options he has. He believes he is “freedom-maxxing” — it’s not that complicated.

Peter Thiel is expanding his operation to Argentina (via Milei) and specifically avoiding California’s proposed billionaire tax. The idea that he’s abandoning his American operations is dumb.

Russia’s reckless drone incursion into Romania shows once again Russia’s willingness to escalate. Germany stands with our NATO Allies. The incident once again underscores the need for strong NATO posture on the Eastern flank. We are ready to defend every inch of Allied territory.

Bolton: Ukrainians are a moral example for the world. A free people, largely abandoned, confronted one of the world’s largest armies and refused to give in. Congress should be unabashedly pro-Ukraine — it is a tragedy America is not doing more. 3X

Bolton: Ukrainians have brought Russia to a halt. Putin does not get serious about negotiations until Russian forces are really moving backward. If you want to defeat aggression and tell others it is not in their interest, Ukraine is the model. 2/

Bolton: Ukraine now has the best army in Europe, better than any NATO member there except the U.S. It has enormous combat experience and has developed drone and counter-drone technology that America should use, learn from, and take advantage of. 1/

BOOM: UKRAINE JUST TORCHED RUSSIA’S SHADOW FLEET — 50 MILES OFF TURKEY! Ukrainian naval drones slammed THREE Russian shadow tankers in the Black Sea: • JAMES II (engine room hit — dead in the water) • VELORA & ALTURA (direct strikes) This is Putin’s oil money pipeline getting CHOKE-SLAMMED. No more evading sanctions to fund the meat grinder. Fuel shortages exploding across occupied territories. Crimea supply lines under drone hell. Russia’s navy? Hiding. Ukraine isn’t just surviving — it’s owning the Black Sea. Who’s next, Vlad? #Ukraine #BlackSea #ShadowFleet #StandWithUkraine

We have intelligence data indicating that Russia is preparing for a new massive attack. It is important that all our partners know what is happening and that Russia continues to rely on missiles and further war, not diplomatic steps. First of all, this means that additional sanctions pressure on Russia is needed and that the implementation of our air defense arrangements with partners cannot be delayed. I discussed the relevant tasks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha – what must be done in the coming weeks and which steps by partners can most effectively support our defense. Anti-ballistic defense is the key task. We are also preparing our detailed proposals for a new European sanctions package and additional measures against the circumvention of existing sanctions. I thank everyone who is helping protect life!

CARNEY: Canada following Danish model. We're partnering with Ukrainian defense contractors, financing production of drones and other for Ukraine’s defence. Then we're building capacity in Canada for our own future defence, because cutting edge of defensive warfare is in Ukraine.

Multibillionaire Ken Griffin just gave $2,500,000 to Susan Collins’s super PAC (after she voted four times to cut his taxes). I look forward to raising Ken Griffin’s taxes, and banning him, and all billionaires, from buying elections.

Ontarians are saying that online gambling ads are out of control and they want it to stop. People see how these ads are fueling the gambling addiction crisis happening around them.   The Conservatives had the chance to ban these ads, but they sided with the industry and voted down my Bill.   I will work across the aisle and with anyone who is serious about eliminating iGaming ads preying on people.   Ontarians don’t want half measures.  I will keep fighting until there is a total ban on these insidious ads. #onpoli

This press conference staging is almost absurdly symbolic. Two Swedish Gripens. Ukrainian flags. A cold Scandinavian hangar. No dramatic music. No giant NATO backdrop. Just a quiet message: “These aircraft were designed for exactly this kind of war.” Dispersed operations. Short turnaround. Survive the first strike. Keep flying. Very Swedish. Very understated. Very serious.

News of the Gripen deal for Ukraine is another major achievement by Zelenskyy in strengthening the country’s defense. And another step in deepening Ukraine’s special relationship with Sweden. But the bigger question is this: is Ukraine becoming a Nordic country? Not geographically. Strategically. For decades, Ukrainians thought of their place in Europe through the lens of Central and Eastern Europe. Some dreamed of an arc from the Baltic to the Black Sea. After 2022, reality began to change doctrine. A renaissance in Ukraine’s relations with Northern Europe began. It was driven by three forces: the North’s leadership in supporting Ukraine, backed by resources; frictions with partners in Central Europe; and Ukraine’s search for more strategic anchors in Europe. For Ukrainians, this movement makes sense. More than a thousand years ago, the Varangians were an important part of the rise of Rus. In the early 18th century, Sweden was already an ally of Ukraine’s attempt to break free from Moscow’s rule. But this is not only about history. Ukrainians are drawn to the Nordic world, where strength does not contradict democracy, defense does not contradict prosperity, technology reinforces resilience, and cool-headedness serves freedom and dignity. Kyiv will not change its geography. But its center of gravity is changing. The Vikings are returning to Ukraine. And Ukrainians are charting their country’s path to the North. It is still unclear where this will lead. But it is already a fascinating turn of history.
