Today is the feast day of St. Bernadette Soubirous, the messenger of Our Lady at Lourdes. After her death on April 16, 1879, at the age of 33, her body was exhumed three times - in 1909, 1919, and 1925 - and was found to be incorrupt. One of the doctors who oversaw the examination of her body in 1946 was particularly astonished by the state of her liver, which was "soft and almost normal in consistency." Her body is interred at the Chapel of St. Bernadette in Nevers in a crystal coffin.

She endured her trials with patience and always maintained great faith and hope in God. Bernadette’s body is incorrupt, till date,which means that it is preserved by God from decay. She is the patron saint of bodily illness, Lourdes, against poverty, shepherds and shepherdesses, and people ridiculed for their faith St. Bernadette Soubirous of Lourdes, Pray for us.
