@Scotlandteam Devestating news. A great rugby player and an even better person. Had the pleasure of sitting next to him at an international a few years ago and he was quite happy to take the mickey out of his brother who, he said, had a face for radio whilst he had the face for TV.

Scottish Rugby is immensely saddened to learn of the death earlier today of former Scotland and British & Irish Lions centre, Scott Hastings. He was 61.

@JamesMelville That decommissioning phase won’t be in the political lifespan of the current decision makers so not their problem. Forgive the cynicism but aslong as they are building a CV that will help them line up Non Exec or Consulting roles post political life then that is all that matters.

By 2050, there could be more than 40 million metric tonnes of wind turbine blade waste piling up worldwide. How is that environmentally sustainable? How is that ‘saving the planet”?

@IndyPenguine I agree. England should at the very least have its own assembly like the other nations. Westminster would exist then only for cross nation matters eg defence, foreign affairs etc. Everything else can be done independently at the nation level. Scrap the HoL whilst we are at it.

@backandacross A bit of extra lift from Tuesday but the batter deals with it well as it would have been easy to pop one up to the waiting throng of boxes and cases. Short leg is particularly close - one step to leg and those boxes will be everywhere.

@backandacross Friday has always had a bit of fire and brimstone about him and that is a good bouncer. The batter has clearly got his eye in now and has flicked the switch into attack mode. Lucky to get away with that though. Off the mark with a 4.

@backandacross Mid off races in to prevent a single and to keep the pressure on the new batsman. Meanwhile Friday is limbering up - traditionally the most hostile bowler in the attack, he is already growling at the batter.
