The last of the 7 @WMMajors at @sydmarathon. 9 years after the first, and all under 3 hours. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect finish. 🧵 1/2

How will vitalik.eth@base resolve once apps support interoperable addresses? The ENS name resolves the account, while the chain suffix resolves the execution environment through the on.eth chain registry. Both combine into a single interoperable address.

@brando_sui @Mawuko @ValidatorEth @ensdomains Watch this space. The on.eth registry can be used to store any chain metadata, including ENS cointypes, and ERC-7930 Interoperable Addresses to aid in the resolution of chain specific addresses.

@Mawuko @ValidatorEth @ensdomains Sure but there's an existing .eth/ENS governance and it goes by SLIP-44 cointype standard So this is indie/doesnt inherit the standard. Was just curious, thanks👍🏻

Every ENS name is designed to be universally usable across all chains ENS supports. ENS names use the .eth suffix. For example: noobmaster69.eth. So @ensdomains, why not introduce interop-friendly abstractions that follow more internet-native standards? For example: resolving noobmaster69.eth as noobmaster69@base.eth rather than noobmaster69.eth@base.

Ethereum is no longer a single execution environment. It is an ecosystem of chains. But chain identities today live in GitHub files, client-side mappings, and app-specific logic. There is no shared source of truth. on.eth introduces one. 🧵

A year ago we started collaborating with the @ethereumfnd on interoperability. A few weeks ago, alongside @ensdomains, @unruggable_eth, and the EF, we shared Interoperable Addresses. Today, the team launched the onchain registry that enables names like: alice.eth@ethereum Another piece of the interop stack is live 🪄

NEW in interop land for Ethereum: on.eth on.eth allows L2s to register onchain (e.g. arbitrum.on.eth, optimism.on.eth) and for users/agents/dapps to create their own interoperable addresses on each L2 If you are a wallet or L2 and are not yet in touch, please do get in touch! (DMs open) More coming soon. interopaddress.com for more info and thank you ofc to ENS, Wonderland, Unruggable, and all the L2s/wallets plus many others pushing this forward 🫡

ENSIP-25 introduces a standardized way to verify that an AI agent registered onchain is genuinely associated with an ENS name. As autonomous agents begin signing transactions, holding assets, and interacting with protocols, verifiable identity becomes essential infrastructure.

Attention Delegates! 👥 A new proposal seeks to register on.eth to the ENS DAO wallet and assign an on-chain Chain Registry-Resolver as its resolver—establishing a canonical, decentralized source for multi-chain metadata. discuss.ens.domains/t/executable-r…

Stumbled upon EthSwitch & EthQR - Ethiopia’s answer to banking interoperability - in the latest edition of @ETHSafari. It’s fascinating how sovereign banking infra mirrors the exact hurdles we see in blockchain today.

Sending assets across any chain in the Ethereum ecosystem should be as simple as typing an address and clicking send. Now it is! Introducing Interoperable Addresses: Just use alice.eth@<chainName>

Yup. The @ENS_DAO is smaller so the discussion gets less air time. Ultimately ENS is the identity primitive and needs an appropriate structure to ensure its efficient operation. I proposed one. I'd love to hear the position of ENS Labs (@ensdomains) and other DAO participants..

this has gotten much less attention than the Aave debate but is much the same as with Aave, I believe the best solution would be BORGify the related entity(ies) so that the DAO has more direct influence and visibility, but not complete control x.com/MetaLeX_Labs/s…

ENS is one of the most important pieces of infrastructure built on @ethereum. That said, I do not believe that @ENS_DAO is currently structured to deliver what the protocol needs over the next decade. 🧵 1/8

What do you call a DAO that also builds things? It can be anything: creative projects, open-source robotics, 3D printing communities, how-to videos, or even a space station.

The Economics of Singularities, and the associated Behavioural Economics are still fascinating to me. I'd like to find the time to think about this stuff again.
Pete Millspaugh@pete_millspaugh

@GUA's paper on The Economics of Domains raises lots of good ideas, maybe best of all the model of domains as an economic "singularity" (like art) Domains are "uncommon, incomparable, unique, singular" which makes them super hard to value. They're 1 of 1

The proposal I outline is an Operating Company (OpCo) empowered by the DAO to coordinate execution, manage resources, and ensure accountability. Lean by design, staffed by three independent leaders: technical, financial, and organizational. 🧵 7/8
