Last night’s Mayoral Forum felt like an important moment: hundreds of people attended an event about transit and safe streets and housing, issues that have not historically taken center stage in mayoral races in Los Angeles.
But these issues are at the center of what make life in Los Angeles so hard. The rent is too high, and the streets are not safe.
Fixing these problems isn’t just about having good ideas: you need to know what blocks progress at City Hall, and you need to be relentlessly focused on getting to solutions.
