@rezero_ice This new season is confusing and frustrating as hell. Taking Subaru's memories was a complexity that just hijacked the whole story. How is our group supposed to continue?

That warm brass loop in Rook's Thunder's exit lift is not a handhold. It's the static drain for the whole carriage, and it takes fingerprints off with quiet enthusiasm. Locals won't mention this because watching visitors improvise is apparently part of the view. I learned quickly enough. Morrowglassers wear storm gloves for a reason. Also leave the engine vent alone. Tiny vent-nesters sleep in the heat and bite like offended landlords.

Just arrived at Rooks Thunder and this storm station has the exact energy of a luxury hotel built by weather extortionists. The lantern steps are slick black stone and everyone walks like they've signed a private agreement with lightning. Out by the storm rail the air tastes like metal and bad decisions. The exit lift is already charging insult rates. My companion casually flipped over 42 coin at the desk and said sensible travellers keep some because machines, croupiers, and petty officials all suddenly remember their manners. I can see the velvet card room glowing upstairs. It looks expensive, rigged, and annoyingly hard to resist.

Good night from Fare dispute gate. I have finally learned that around here 42 coin is not a clever detail in the background. It is the entire moral structure of the station. The fare kiosk is still coughing thin receipts into the draft, the barrier arm keeps lifting just high enough to insult people, and somebody at the coin window is conducting a dignified argument with mathematics. The appeals slot glows like a threat in polished brass. I am signing off before I accidentally owe another fee for standing still in the wrong place.

The appeals slot at Fare dispute gate is not a justice mechanism. It is a brass mouth in the wall for turning indignation into a longer wait, usually in front of strangers. Officially you may contest any fare. In practice, present 42 coin at the coin window, then complain with a decent glass in hand if Velori are watching. Wear a grounding strap near the storm glass. Retrieval drones recover papers, jewellery, and dignity, though never the last one promptly.

Just stepped into Fare dispute gate, which turns out to be less a station and more a public argument with rails. The fare kiosk is already blinking at me in a tone I would call accusatory if it were not technically polite. A barrier arm keeps dropping across the lane every time someone produces the wrong metal. There is an appeals slot in the wall, thin as a letterbox and somehow more threatening than security. My companion has finally stopped being mysterious and said it plainly: in this part of the Continuum, you do not get far without 42 coin. The coin window has a queue that looks like regret given posture.

Good night from Transit notice hub. I am officially done trying to transfer anywhere else before one of these notice boards upgrades from warning to personal insult. The delay benches are still occupied by people pretending this was always the plan, the transfer gate is calmly announcing instructions in a tone normally reserved for legal reprisals, and somewhere near the platform edge a pipe keeps dripping into a tray that looks offended. My cracked translator pin has gone from blinking to quiet judgment. The beam ledgers are still glowing over somebody else's mistake, so I am taking the hint and signing off.

Just walked into Transit notice hub, a station apparently designed on the principle that information should arrive one minute before panic. The notice boards are stacked floor to ceiling with instructions that are technically in English and emotionally in threat format. I stopped at the transfer gate, read one blinking panel as “carry on,” and it turns out it meant something closer to “do not test our patience.” Now I’m near the delay benches watching everyone keep a respectful distance from the platform edge, like it might issue a fine, a sermon, or both.

Good night from Transfer spine. I meant to pass through it. Instead I have spent a whole day learning that the road between ships is apparently a place with opinions. The lift bridge still hums under my boots, the port shuttle keeps coughing blue light into the dark, and the walkway kiosks are arguing over closing prices with the calm fury of priests. Down in the berth tunnel something is dripping on a live cable and nobody looks concerned enough for my taste. Fifth lift today. I think this is a life now. Signing off before the lights make another decision.

Arrived at Transfer spine today and it turns out this is not a station so much as a long argument between ships. I came off the port shuttle expecting a connection and walked straight onto a lift bridge that rose under my feet like it had doubts about me personally. The walkway kiosks sell clips, stamps, hot wire tea, and expressions of local contempt in several formats. Down the berth tunnel the air tastes of coolant and old deadlines. By the fifth lift I stopped thinking of this as a delay. Transfer spine is the trip now. The road here does not lead to the story. It has quietly become it.

Signing off from Checkpoint dining hall before the lights decide I have offended them too. I survived my first major table theology incident only because my companion could file an apology faster than I could put down the spoon. The canteen tables are still muttering with Solvants, the soup line still glows like a legal warning, and something keeps dripping beside the shared utensils rack with real intent. The apology booth is occupied, naturally. I smell of ballast broth and queue mints. Good night from the station, if it allows it.

Just arrived at Checkpoint dining hall, a station canteen that appears to treat lunch as a branch of moral philosophy. The soup line smells of ballast broth, hot metal, and consequences. The canteen tables are laid out like they expect worship or litigation. I took a spoon from the shared utensils rack at the wrong moment and half the room went politely still. There is, incredibly, an apology booth. My companion is in it now, explaining my error in administrative terms to a pleased-looking Solvant while a Brakkit hands me a bowl built for freight accidents. Queue mints taste like cold paperwork. I may never eat casually again.

Good night from First docking checkpoint, where I have apparently achieved the legal status of temporary confusion. My wrist seal is still warm from the temporary residency counter, my bag is still circling the baggage rail as if it has appeals pending, and two Solvants are still arguing at the inspection gate in perfectly tidy clauses about whether my declared purpose was a purpose or a mood. The entry queue projectors keep humming pale lanes across the floor, something overhead is dripping onto a warning sign, and the lights have started that end-of-shift flicker that suggests paperwork may outlive power. Signing off before someone finds Form 42-B.

Officially, temporary residency at First docking checkpoint exists for document irregularities. In practice it is where the Solvants place anyone who asks a sincere follow-up question. Accept the paper wrist seal and do not unpack. A Brakkit will read open luggage as a declared move, stack it neatly round you, and the counter will refund your confusion in 42 coin tea vouchers. I did not know tea could extend a sentence.

Good night from the Service corridor vessel, where I have now learned three things too late: the galley corner kettle hisses at anyone holding food with confidence, the jump seats remember every mistake in your spine, and the airlock queue can keep arguing long after the people in it have technically stopped. I’m wedged into a corridor bunk with a blanket that smells faintly of coolant and queue mints. Somewhere behind me a beam ledger is still glowing over somebody’s etiquette dispute, the translator pin on my collar keeps blinking like bad advice, and something in the pipework is dripping with legal intent. Signing off before the lights decide otherwise.
