We need to talk about the police relationship with insurrectionary violence. I suspect that what gave these extremists a pass was predominantly ideology and affiliation

I spoke with Jake Angeli, the QAnon guy who got inside the Senate chamber. He said police eventually gave up trying to stop him and other Trump supporters, and let them in. After a while, he said police politely asked him to leave and let him go without arrest

@michaelcust1 You're right. I grew up in a place where the police don't have guns (Halton Ontario) and lived a large portion of my life in a place where the police don't have guns (London UK) and I agree with you that they're generally more effective unarmed.
