@omgitsOwlGirl i'm getting a lot of comments saying "you need to read jacques vallee" and I'm like bestie I already have...he's in the sources list. i just can't go all the way down the rabbit hole for the normies just yet
English

@HiddenYorkshire you're getting in at a good time, people have been drawing those links for awhile but it's always been kind of on the backchannels because typically faerie enthusiasts don't believe in aliens, and vice versa.
English

Last week I released my latest video and it's a BANGER!
It's already one of my most watched videos, so if you haven't already, check out what all the fuss is about...
Catherine Warr@HiddenYorkshire
Why is fairy folklore so similar to contemporary alien abduction narratives? Are fairies actually aliens? What does this tell us about how we interpret the past and the world around us? It's all in here. Link below⬇️

@notreallyrealfr the whole episode setup just to make a "date with destiny" joke 😭😭

@NotaBeneCLARE seeing the interplay between my dad's mental illness, autism and hoarding is quite painful and worse knowing that it's passed down to me as well

@RudyAmbiento Are we worshipping God, or man-made traditions?
Could you even explain the Gospel?
English

@HiddenYorkshire As an atheist who grew up going to church, I already had doubts in the 70s about the inspid folkie numbers hippies with acoustic guitars taught us, but these pop concert services today are so cringeworthy I feel sympathy for those who bemoan the passage of the old traditions.

there's nothing more miserable than people being snobbish over worship styles. i like liturgy and unstructured worship, i like 18th century hymns, black gospels, modern worship songs and choral chants. you're not better than anyone just because you feel that your worship is more holier. worship is worship. praise God with cymbals and tambourines. all God requires is that we come to Him with a sincere heart. "oh it's too happy-clappy". i don't care. i'll go to a BCP service and a Shine Jesus Shine fest with a worship band

Booked 2 of the Iliad is really like Mambo No 5 if you think about it
Edward Butler@EPButler
On the contrary, it suggests that Book 2 has a particular esoteric significance, precisely because of its tabular character.

"modern styles seem to value having a jolly old time over trying to form a connection to God" - is that really true? In my experience, many low or non-denominational styles have a congregation which forms a deep understanding of theology and the Bible. My church has a BCP service, but I couldn't expect most people to formulate what 'saved by grace' actually is. And the quality of intercessory prayer ministry and small group culture seems to be more beneficial.
English

@HiddenYorkshire @MoreAvocadoes Its a fair point but moving away from timeless worship forms seems to have failed. The modern styles seem to value having a jolly old time over trying to form a connection to God. When we follow the BCP and the KJB the language fits the subject.
English

@omgitsOwlGirl it doesn't talk about methods. it talks about false teachings, but that is very different
English

@HiddenYorkshire does it warn us not to innovate our own worship methods tho? since the bible is a liturgical book it makes sense that the actual practice would be in the church =P
English

@omgitsOwlGirl outside of the levitical laws and some general guidance on church leadership in the NT letters, there isn't really any guidance on how to actually conduct a worship service
English

@HiddenYorkshire does the bible warn us not to innovate our own worship methods?

@ladygreenkirtle choosing to #thinkpositively because it does give a natural highlight/shimmer
English

@HiddenYorkshire You look like you have that kind of light brown hair that does that quite early, my sister’s the same. I think it looks really pretty and shimmery!
