High Schoolers were treated to a masterclass in identity & advocacy w/ guest Zoé Marie Rodriguez! 🌟 As a Deaf interpreter & Co-Founder of the Puerto Rican Association of the Deaf and Deaf-Blind, Zoé shared her journey of overcoming social criticism to find pride in her identity.

HMS is so much more than a building; it’s a community where no one stands alone. 🌟 Our administrators always remind us that it truly takes a village to support our students, and this Teacher Appreciation Week, we spent every moment celebrating that collective heartbeat.

Our HS Ss had the incredible opportunity to meet with Ashton Jean-Pierre, a Deaf photographer visiting all the way from Australia. 📸🇦🇺 As a creator, Ashton shared not only his incredible work but also his journey of navigating the industry and the power of visual storytelling.

Not all heroes wear capes... some wear aprons! 🍎 🍕 A few days late, but we couldn't let #SchoolLunchHeroDay pass w/o a shout-out to our incredible caf. team. As part of their community unit, PreK painted this adorable tribute to the "heroes" who keep them fed & happy every day.

After an incredible "proper HMS send-off" from students & staff, our HMS Cougar Chess Team is at TSD for the Annual Deaf Chess Invitational! Focused & fueled by school pride, they're competing against schools from across 🇺🇸. We are so proud of their sportsmanship & strategy! 🐾♟️

Several groups of students are heading over to the 🏛️ State House today for the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing's 40th Anniversary celebration! It’s a historic day for advocacy and access in Massachusetts as we celebrate "40 Years Rooted in Community."✨

5th graders recently stepped into the role of interviewers during a virtual visit with author Karen Kane! The Ss brought a thoughtful list of questions about Charlie & the Frog. Seeing them connect through ASL & dive into the book’s journey over Zoom was an incredible experience!

Shoutout to Partners Interpreting for a powerful, hands-on training session on navigating VRI. HMS students dove into "real-life" mock scenarios to practice the vital skill of self-advocacy and learn how to ensure their communication needs are always the top priority.

This is what it’s all about. Seeing the pure joy on these faces as walk into our school every day reminds us why we love what we do. We are so proud to be a part of their journey and can't wait to see all they accomplish! 🎒⭐️
