This morning, students from around Hounslow came together for the Hounslow Teen Read 2026 ceremony. Guest author Savita Kalhan gave an inspiring talk and she was inundated with thoughtful questions and feedback from the students. Thank you to @IsleworthSyon for hosting! 📚

Today, Hounslow SLS had the great pleasure of attending the #hounsloweducationpartnership #gethounslowreading conference 2026! We were able to speak to teachers from all over Hounslow about our service and how it promotes #readingforpleasure in different settings. 🥳

What a morning at the Ealing Teen Read! The award ceremony featured a fascinating author talk from Savita Kalhan, as well as young readers from local schools discussing and discovering the winning books! 📚 Thank you to all the schools who took part!

What an absolute pleasure it was to welcome the brilliant @jmeggittphillips to our World Book Day event today! Jack had the children enthralled with his evil laughing competition and asking the students to create two of the most ghastly beasts we’ve ever imagined! #WorldBookDay

This morning we hosted our annual Illustration Celebration for KS1 students ✏️ We were lucky enough to welcome internationally acclaimed author/illustrator #TedDewan who took the children through a fun workshop, giving them an opportunity to flex their creative muscles! 🖌️

We were thrilled to pick up this World Book Day book this weekend! Nathanael impressed us when he was the guest author at our Hounslow Teen Read event in November and we can’t wait to read this story. World Book Day books are £1 (or free if you are lucky enough to have a token)!

Happy Safer Internet Day! We sent out lots of books to our schools this term with information about social media usage and the safe use of AI. 📚📲 #saferinternetday

This morning we welcomed Year 9 students from Hounslow to take part in our Speed Read! The students had 1 minute to sell their favourite book to each other before voting for their favourite. They did such a fantastic job that we ended up with 5 winners 🏆

For our competition this term, we have asked children from our subscribing schools to create a poster promoting caring for books in their school libraries. The competition has got us thinking about some of our favourite library/book-centred picture books 😍 #readingforpleasure
