Just pointing out that there is no better source of science communications and insight than what we do. Don't let the broad alienation of mainstream society distract you with their bad taste.

Putting an idea through a bottleneck of judgement by a very small proportion of interested people to deem something appropriate for all of time seems outrageously prone to bias, error and the limitations of their knowledge. #PeerReview

@StupendousGrav1 I try to, but it’s lonely here. As a side note, many academics don’t really understand things well enough really explain them, so translation is difficult. Interest is low too.

When academic language meets colloquial language, some fascinating rhetorical pile-ups can happen, and apparently our culture has no mediation process for when it does. Academics insist on academic usage, others insist on colloquial usage, and nobody acts as a translator.

If a replicating system expands this far, it's going to diversify considerably. Some of those will function differently, some in environments that restricted preceding systems. Our control of the environment, #SARSCoV2 included, is far more limited than our confidence.
