The driver of an SUV was killed along the Nanaimo Parkway Saturday evening after an oncoming vehicle crossed the median and collided.
Police are looking for dash cam footage showing southbound traffic along Hwy. 19 leading up to the incident.

Last night, in an act of vandalism, a fire was set at the base of a power pole in downtown #Nanaimo. This was a dangerous act that not only exposed the perpetrators, but the public, first responders and our crews to significant risk. Firefighters responded quickly and were able to suppress the fire, limiting the damage to just the power pole.

The driver of a vehicle along Third St. Thursday afternoon was extremely fortunate to avoid any major injury after flipping his car into a water-filled culvert.
Firefighters say he was in knee-deep water when they helped him leave the car.
