Andy, you were soundly beaten fairly and squarely by Jeremy Corbyn in the 2015 Labour leadership contest. Soon afterwards, you left the PLP and Corbyn’s front bench to pursue your own ambitions. Over the next four years, Corbyn was subjected to the most malicious vitriol that I’ve seen directed at a British politician, never mind party leader.
