Iowa State have added Mt Carmel, IL’s Liam Kelly to their 2026 recruiting class.
Kelly was previously committed to Illinois before flipping to the Cyclones. He is ranked #64 overall in his class by @MatScouts1
NAIA national champion and U20 World Team member Piper Fowler is transferring to Iowa State.
Fowler wrestled for ISU assistant coach Jake Kadel at William Penn.

In another development, former University of Iowa standout Brandon Sorensen has been named head coach of the Hawkeye Wrestling Club. Sorensen was a 4x AA under Tom Brands, wrestling for the Hawks from 2013-18.
The Hawkeye Wrestling Club have announced the signing of four senior level athletes. Crew Howard, Dean Peterson, Patrick Kennedy, and Mikey Caliendo.
Howard is a Clarinda, Iowa native who was a three-time All-American for the University of Nebraska-Kearney, finishing as the national runner-up this season for the Lopers.
Peterson was a four-time NCAA qualifier, finishing in the bloodround on three occasions. His final season was with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Kennedy was a two-time All-American, is a two-time U23 National champion, and wrestled at the 2024 U23 World Championships.
Caliendo is a four-time All-American and two-time NCAA finalist for the Hawkeyes, and he was the U23 National champion last summer.
