ICESAA-4 concluded with the announcement of ICESAA-5 by Prof. Shohei Saito, followed by thoughtful closing remarks from Prof. Henrik Ottosson and Prof. Mahesh Hariharan, reflecting on the scientific highlights and success of the conference.@OttossonGroup

ICESAA-4 concluded with an online lecture by Prof. Daniele Leonori on Novel Synthetic Methods Using Triplet Nitroarenes, where he showcased how triplet excited states can be harnessed to access unconventional and powerful synthetic transformations.

Prof. Irene Casademont Reig presented Aromaticity as a Design Variable at ICESAA-4, illustrating how aromaticity concepts can be deliberately employed to guide molecular design and tune electronic and photophysical properties.

Prof. Bo Durbeej delivered an talk on Simultaneous Optimization of Electrocyclization and Cycloreversion Reactions of Diarylethene Photoswitches, demonstrating how aromaticity considerations in ground and excited states can be strategically used to enhance photoswitch performance

Final session of ICESAA-4, chaired by Prof. Henrik Ottosson, opened with Prof. Tomáš Slanina discussing Photodynamics and Aromaticity of Azulene and Pseudoazulenes.@OttossonGroup @Slanina_Group

The final talk of Session 10 at ICESAA-4 was delivered by Prof. Gokulnath Sabapathi, focusing on Aromaticity vs. Antiaromaticity in Large Macrocyclic Structures and the emergence of stable antiaromatic systems.

Prof. Yusuke Yoneda presented Nonequilibrium Planarization Dynamics Triggered by the Onset of Excited-State Aromaticity Revealed by Time-Domain Vibrational Spectroscopy at ICESAA-4, showcasing ultrafast structural dynamics in excited states.@YusukeYonedaPhD

At ICESAA-4, Prof. Igor Rončević discussed Conjugated π-Systems and How to Describe Them, offering insights into frameworks for describing conjugated electronic structures.@igor_roncevic

Session 10 at ICESAA-4, chaired by @jd1278 , opened with an online talk by Prof. Jinquan Chen on Excited-State Chirality Revealed by Ultrafast Time-Resolved Chiral Spectroscopy.

The second talk of Session 9 at ICESAA-4 was delivered by Dr. Moumita Gangopadhyay on Fluorescent Nanoprobes for Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)-Guided Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), highlighting targeted therapeutic strategies.@anglu_28

ICESAA-4 proceeds with Session 9 under the chairmanship of Prof. Anna Guðmundsdóttir, opening with Prof. Ori Gidron’s lecture on Size and Curvature Dependent Excited-State Aromaticity.

On the final day of ICESAA-4, Prof. Shohei Saito presented Aromaticity for the Design of Dynamic Molecules and Materials, highlighting how aromaticity principles enable dynamic molecular and materials design.

Prof. Martin Peeks presented Unusual Properties of Aromatic and Antiaromatic Molecules at ICESAA-4, highlighting unconventional structure–property relationships in π-conjugated systems.

Day 4 of ICESAA-4 begins under the chairmanship of Prof. Mahesh Hariharan, opening with the first talk by Prof. Prasun Mandal on Meta-Fluorophores: An Uncharted Ocean.

The session and day at ICESAA-4 concluded with a talk by Dr. M. S. Charoo on Tribological and Chemical Characterisation of Epoxidised Peganum harmala L. Oil as a Sustainable Bio-Lubricant, highlighting renewable alternatives in lubrication science.#aromaticity #antiaromaticity
