Jeff's Favorite Photo Friday Happy First Day of Spring! For Alaskans, spring means lots of things - warm, sunny weather to enjoy winter activities like ice fishing and snowmachining. But it also means things will be brighter longer and warmer to start getting ready for summer.

Congratulations to 2026 Iditarod rookie, Jesse Terry who won Rookie of the Year by being the first rookie to finish in Nome in 14th place. Way to go!

THE CHUGACH MOUNTAINS! 🏔️ I’ve spent years flying, hiking, and biking through this 300-mile range. Whether at its 13,176ft high point or mesmerized at 20,000ft leaving Anchorage, I never tire of photographing them in every season.

The new “Anchorage Mushing District" arch is officially up at 4th and D! 🛷 A beautiful tribute to the history of the Fur Rondy and @Iditarod. So glad I could capture it between "FACES OF IDITAROD" shoots.

Jeff's Favorite Photo Friday 1994. A big snow year in Willow. The Iditarod teams were leaving from Willow Lake. I shot Dee Dee Jonrowe here with the sun burning through the clouds and used a colored filter to accentuate the sky. ⁠

Crazy "Jetson’s stuff!" After my smartphone photo talk to Iditarod teachers, a couple took a photo with me. 5 mins later, their daughter texted back this AI version of us driving a dog team! 🐕🛷 Done in one minute. Is AI impressive or just scary? You can't trust anything!
