The structure of families in Africa are completely different from the Eurocentric version we are taught in colonial school. In #Togo for most ethnic groups, the word cousin doesn’t exist at all. The paternal cousins are our siblings and the maternal ones are our uncles.

#IGLI2022 is a wrap 🌟 I don't yet have the words to express the fullness of my joy at being surrounded by 20+ courageous activists & facilitators for a week in Colorado. Right now, I'm swimming in gratitude for all who came & built this community. We are stronger together.

We start #IGLI2022-our 4th Summer Institute-on Monday! The first participants have arrived, I have half of Costco in my living room, and I am remembering how much energy it takes to pull off an international institute with participants from 18 countries.🙏 to @sie_center team 💛
