What students need to improve outcomes is smaller class sizes, but this Minister of Education doesn’t seem to care. Since he came into office, he’s fired over five thousand teachers. We’re set to lose hundreds more over the next year.     Education experts have said this repeatedly: more teachers and caring adults in classrooms means better outcomes for our kids. So why does he continue to ignore what’s best for our kids?

Tina got fired. She was suggesting that a few billion dollars of taxpayer money could have gone "missing" and wound up in some dodgy investments. My own review of her work and a look at the "bailouts" occurring in the TO real estate market suggest she was onto something. Something - as in billions. @TinaYazdani

I WANT TO KNOW WHY TINA WAS FIRED AND WHO FIRED HER. Q: does she have a valid claim for wrongful dismissal🤔 We ....WE...Ontarians also want to know WHAT IS ON YOUR PHONE, @fordnation ?

Is this what happens now in @fordnation's #Ontario when there's finally a good Professional Investigative TV Reporter @TinaYazdani, who is not afraid to ask tough, not 'gotcha' questions to all Politicians, questions the electorate want answers to? How many are left now? #onpoli

A reporter questioned the Ford government moving $4 BILLION in public money (for tariffs) into a private fund, run by private manager, with limited details. Now she’s gone. Her stories are gone. Access to records is being restricted. Again. This is why this petition matters.

What the hell is going on in Canadian media? Why was journalist Tina Yazdani — who was dogged in her coverage of Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s government — suddenly fired from CityNews without any explanation to the public? This is potential-major-press-freedom-story levels of concerning:

As Premier Doug Ford was asked about the OSAP changes, he thundered back, calling the Ontario Liberals a "bunch of amateurs" who would bankrupt a lemonade stand. Note: Under Ford, Ontario's debt will grow to half-a-trillion and the budget has yet to be balanced. #onpoli

Doug Ford's Education Minister just gave himself more power to appoint Conservative insiders at $400K to $500K a pop while laying off a thousand education workers.   The word "liability" appears 43 times in his new legislation. "Students" appears five times. "Classrooms" appears zero times.   Kids are in overcrowded classrooms with no one to help them. Teachers are burning out. And this government keeps tinkering around the edges while consolidating power.   Students don't need a wannabe Emperor of Education. They need caring adults in classrooms who can answer when they put up their hand.

This is why @CityNewsTO fired Tina, for reporting on the truth of the overwhelming corruption in the Ford gov't. They've stolen billions from provincial funds meant for Healthcare, education, social, and environment programs, to give to bold in shady investments and companies.

NEW: The Ford government is moving $4B in taxpayer money from a tariff relief program into a private investment fund. The finance minister argues it will spur economic growth & create future jobs. But critics say it is public money desperately needed in schools and hospitals.

A female journalist challenges Doug Ford. Asks tough questions. Does her job. And then she’s gone. We don’t have all the details yet. But when reporting holds political leaders accountable, and the fallout lands on the journalist instead of the people in power… people are going to ask questions. Because this isn’t happening in a vacuum. Women in journalism are already: Targeted more. Doubted more. Attacked more. So when one of them disappears right as things get uncomfortable you don’t get to tell the public not to question it. No one is above scrutiny. Not journalists. And not politicians either. If everything is above board, transparency shouldn’t be a problem. @CityNewsTO @fordnation
