The India–Argentina Business Council (IABC) annual meeting was held at the Bolsa de Cereales on 17 March 2026, with the objective of strengthening the economic partnership between India and Argentina.The event was graced by H.E. Mr. Carlos Sadir, Governor of Jujuy; H.E. Mr. Fernando Brun, Secretary for International Economic Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Gustavo Idígoras, Executive Director of IABC. The event brought together members of IABC, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and leading business representatives from both Argentina and India, serving as an important platform to foster dialogue, enhance cooperation, and explore new avenues for bilateral trade and investment. In his address Ambassador Ajaneesh Kumar @ajaneesh_kumar highlighted the growing and dynamic economic partnership between India and Argentina, noting that bilateral trade has reached USD 6–7 billion but still holds significant untapped potential. He emphasized the need to improve market access, reduce non-tariff barriers, and facilitate business mobility to further strengthen trade ties. He also underlined opportunities for collaboration in key sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, defence, and digital technologies, while calling for a more ambitious India–Mercosur trade framework. @DrJaishankar: "Concluded a productive visit to Brussels, meeting with the #EuropeanUnion Foreign Affairs Council, calling on Presidents of the European Council António Costa and European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, and holding talks with EU HRVP Kaja Kallas. Also met EU counterparts and held separate bilateral discussions with many. Ten key messages in these conversations were: 📷 The finalization of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) represents a turning point in 📷 📷 ties. Will not only unlock its enormous economic potential but express the strategic nature of our engagement. 📷 To realize the gains of FTA on the ground, the two sides should proactively assist each other in practical activities, including trade and investment promotion. 📷 The Trade and Technology Council (TTC) can be upgraded and repurposed to facilitate collaboration in critical and cutting-edge technologies. 📷 De-risking supply chains and enhancing resilience are shared objectives. The FTA will encourage deeper business linkages to that end. 📷 Mobility of skills and talent flows are very important. The establishment of the Legal Gateway Office in India is noteworthy. We have a common interest in promoting Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India. 📷 The Security and Defence Partnership will be taken forward. Will endeavour to conclude the Security of Information Agreement early. 📷 Connectivity is also prominent in our agenda. Will work together to give practical shape to IMEC and other such initiatives. 📷 As multilateralism comes under stress, India and the EU will strive to strengthen its institutions and practices. 📷 Our Strategic Partnership will be carried out through close and regular consultations at the leadership level. Domain specific mechanisms will support those efforts. 📷 In a multipolar and uncertain world, the India-EU partnership will act as a factor of stability and resilience." Concluí una productiva visita a Bruselas, donde me reuní con el Consejo de Asuntos Exteriores de la Unión Europea, visité a los presidentes del Consejo Europeo, António Costa, y de la Comisión Europea, Ursula von der Leyen, y mantuve conversaciones con la Alta Representante de la UE para Asuntos Exteriores y Política de Seguridad, Kaja Kallas. También me reuní con homólogos de la UE y mantuve conversaciones bilaterales con varios de ellos. Diez mensajes clave de estas conversaciones fueron: 📷 La finalización del Acuerdo de Libre Comercio (ALC) representa un punto de inflexión en las relaciones. No solo desbloqueará su enorme potencial económico, sino que también expresará el carácter estratégico de nuestro compromiso. 📷 Para materializar los beneficios del ALC, ambas partes deben prestarse asistencia mutua de forma proactiva en actividades prácticas, incluyendo la promoción del comercio y la inversión. 📷 El Consejo de Comercio y Tecnología (CCT) puede modernizarse y reorientarse para facilitar la colaboración en tecnologías críticas y de vanguardia. 📷 La reducción de riesgos en las cadenas de suministro y el fortalecimiento de la resiliencia son objetivos compartidos. El ALC fomentará vínculos comerciales más estrechos con ese fin. 📷 Movilidad de El flujo de talento y competencias es fundamental. Cabe destacar la creación de la Oficina de Enlace Legal en India.
