While the disease has changed many parts of his life, it’s also changed his perspective: life is short, and it’s meant to be enjoyed. At Intermountain Health, Bryon says he feels truly cared for and seen by Dr. Karen Mitrovitch. He’s deeply grateful for care that treats him as a whole person and not just a diagnosis. Alyson Brown is a Employee Health Coordinator at American Fork Hospital. Alyson is a recent recipient of an Intermountain L.O.V.E. award by exemplifying how we are truly "better together.” Pushing through her own experience with trauma and turning that vulnerability into action, she created a non-profit to create "bug out" bags for individuals leaving domestic violence situations quickly. The bag is filled with resources to help with the next steps in leaving an unhealthy relationship. Pilot hospitals have these on hand with their safety and security team. If a caregiver finds an opportunity to leave and needs some help, Alyson has provided a way to receive it. ❤️
