Meet Michael Scaletta-Teates. He didn't just play dress-up; he showed up to an active crime scene in Bremerton, WA, driving an unmarked SUV with police lights, wearing a "SWAT" vest, and carrying a firearm. He even tried to convince actual officers he was an "off-duty Edmonds detective."
This all fell apart when the real Bremerton PD grew suspicious of his "Frankenbadge" and "budget" gear, they asked for his credentials. His response? "They're in my lunch bag."
When officers finally opened the lunch bag and found zero ID—just several cans of Coca-Cola. 🥤
It turns out he wasn't a detective never has been. Even better he was a convicted felon (previously caught in a 2015 bomb hoax) working as a security guard who decided to "patrol" the city on his own terms.
Michael was arrested and charged with 1st-Degree Criminal Impersonation, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
His bail was set at $50,000 with GPS monitoring.
