Drove the Suzuki Jimny (1500cc 3 door) to Homabay, Kisumu and back to Nairobi. The drive just confirmed my suspicion. The car is massively underpowered. Overtaking is a pain, and it has massive body roll on corners. Definitely NOT a car I would recommend as a daily drive… but still a car I will definitely buy. Is the 5 door version any better? Forget the hype. It’s not. It actually feels more underpowered than the 3 door because of the extra weight. So why am I buying a Jimny knowing all that? While the Jimny is not the safest, most comfortable, or fastest car, when it comes to offroad, this little thing is a MONSTER .It competes with cars that cost ten times more. I’m talking about the likes of the G Wagon, Defender, and the almighty Land Cruiser. If you want a car that can take you almost anywhere on a budget, go for a Jimny. The number of times a year I can find myself offroad will never make me get something unenjoyable like a Jimny. It’s like walking all year in gumboots waiting for the day it will rain.

She didn’t have the networks, the institutional backing, the aspirational pull, or the strategic patience to support that move. That’s not the lane that built her. Naomi Campbell, an absolute institution with 30 plus years in the game, someone who deeply understands media, influence, the real networks operating behind the scenes, and the darker currents that run through them, tried to bring her in and open doors. Naomi was riding Elsa’s wave but also offering genuine access. When she saw how naive Elsa was and that she didn’t understand the game at all, she dropped her. I believe she’ll try coming back to the crisps and glasses, but you can’t run the same trick twice after you’ve shown the game and turned on those who helped you. The whole saga is a clear lesson in social psychology, media influence, pandemic-era power dynamics, and the fragility of viral fame... when the world is hungry and empty, authenticity wins fast. But trying to flip that into dominance without the right structures, support, self-awareness, or long-term vision... It collapses. Stay in your lane, protect your core, or watch it all fade.
