The counterpoint is we’re leaving the most upset rich era of CBB history, and the tourney right now is closer to what it was in 2010 than it was in 2022.
-12 of the 15 wins all time by 15 seeds came 2012 or later,
-14 seeds only beat a 3 seed twice in the 2000s,
- the only 2 16 seed wins all time happened in the last decade
I agree I’d like to see more upsets, but expecting these teams to win any games is still a relatively new thing

As you realize the college sports you grew up with doesn’t exist anymore, it hits you that it may have all been a facade. The reason these teams below existed was largely to players being exploited with no ability to make money & punished for transferring. NIL introduced….cream rises to the top. In 2012 a guy who fell through the cracks in recruiting would spend 4 years at a mid major and develop there…not anymore. 80% of those players trickle up to make the major conference teams that were losing in 2008 better in 2026. College sports was prob better in 2010 but it was due to a model that unequivocally ripped off athletes. I am open to being wrong here, but the game has changed forever and what we watched years ago was fake.

I believe some better contracts need to be introduced, but overall it is the right thing to do.
Players should be paid their value. It would be impossible to not let that happen again.

@JackMac Valid point. Would add it's not just mi-majors. Even guys who got a p5 roster spot out of HS are transferring "up" to better and richer programs now

If Silas Demary returns for Sunday against UCLA, I am confident.
The turnovers were better tonight.
3-point shooting HAS to regress at a point. Karaban was good tonight. Will take 4-9 from 3 every game from him.
If UConn can get just 35% from 3 from Mullins/Karaban/Solo, I believe they can hang with anyone.
It’s all turnovers and 3p shooing. That’s it. The defense is good. Post game is good. They’re getting great looks. They HAVE to fall.
