BYU Football commit @kadencox_4... On his recent LDS mission: "Two years flies by. I'm back from my mission and it's been good being home. I served in the Fort Collins Colorado Mission. It was a great mission. Definitely hard at times but my mission was great. It was a very humbling experience. I was only six hours from home at times but it didn't feel like it." On being home: "I just barely got BYU's workout program. I've been able to throw a few times a week with my quarterback coach. I thought it'd be more of a struggle but it's better than what I expected." On his recruitment: "Growing up, basketball was my love. My junior year, college football coaches started reaching out to me. But [beacuse of covid] I couldn't go to camps so I was under the radar. I got recruited by Utah State, Utah Tech, Weber State, Colorado State, Portland State, and Nevada. BYU wasn't in the picture when I was playing. They didn't reach out to me until early march [of senior year.] I went down to that [BYU practice] and they offered me a preferred walk-on scholarship. On his style of play: "We ran a really similar offense to what BYU runs. I'm dual threat type [quarterback]." On possibly playing another position at BYU: "I've played quarterback my whole life. I've never given it a ton of thought. If it ever comes a day and they ask me [to play another position], I'll do it. But as of right now I'm really focusing on quarterback. On his next step: "I'm grey-shirting this fall. I won't be dressing or practicing with the team. Come January I'll be full go with the team."
