Retroactively #shook by "The Bell Jar." (audio) I'd liked it well enough that as the narrator launched into a brief author bio I scrolled the 'net for more by the author, disappointed to find no other novels. Then, the bio ended, revealing Plath's fate. Like I said...shook. #sad

#FriSalon Q3 How much planning do you do for #NaNoWriMo? Will you be a fully fledged outliner, a total ‘pantser’ or somewhere in between? If you’re not doing NaNo, how would you approach it?

@DeborahKlee @MariaJauthor I know my character is going to grow over the course of the novel (victim to warrior mentality), but I also know there will be tragic elements and of course the subject matter is heavy enough. I'd hope to inspire hope for those enduring hardships, if I can't "uplift".

@MariaJauthor #FriSalon I'm usually a "plantser" -- I know where things are going, but don't have all the details worked out. But one of my books (A Gift of Flame) I pantsed and it somehow came out all right, even though I wasn't quite sure what was going on until halfway through the book.
