At a mtg last yr Larry Lee, CEO @SacObsernewspaper (60-year old Black newspaper) shared that his org quadrupled their staff size in just 16 mos. The @knightfdn event was focused on sustainability. Attendees stood and clapped. I had tears in my eyes. Everyone wanted to know how.

Final day of the Knight Media Forum #KMF23 Glad to rep @DPTVOneDetroit Something that’s stuck with me from the am session re: addressing polarization: The work of the media is to bring hope to what America can be, that it can be better rather than continuing to stoke the fire.

“The Press is the only private sector institution called out in the constitution,” says @JRosenworcel at the @knightfdn #KMF23 meeting. She says she understands then that journalism is fundamentally important to the country and news deserts are concerning problems for democracy.
