Great to welcome a delegation from the French co-operative movement to Parliament this week. Thanks to those who joined the panel to discuss scaling the sector and making sure co-ops have a bigger role in building a fairer economy. The Government is serious about doubling the size of the co-operative sector as pledged and we are backing this model.

Knife crime won’t fall unless we tackle the root causes. I welcome the Government’s Halving Knife Crime Action Plan and £26m investment, plus the rollout of Young Futures Hubs in 50 areas. But prevention can’t wait. Oldham should be included in that rollout and see further investment in prevention to break the cycle of harm and keep young people safe.

That is not correct Suzie, as I was clear in response to Claire’s original post. My office has been steadfast in our support for the survivor referred to in this article including longstanding support to have the case reviewed by the police and holding to account other agencies involved. We have done so without fear or favour. Any suggestion otherwise is wrong and you should withdraw it.

Is there a reason for #Labour Politicians being so reluctant to carry out enquiries regarding grooming gangs? Some say it’s for votes others say it’s more complicated. Whatever the reason the truth must come out. The victims deserve so much better.

Labour MP Jim McMahon, serious questions need answering! A grooming gang victim has alleged she was trafficked into Parliament as a teenager. She says she reported what happened. So what happened next? Why were those concerns not treated as a criminal matter? Why were they misdirected instead of properly escalated? Oldham has been one of the areas at the centre of this scandal for years. McMahon came up through that system, from councillor to MP. So the question stands. What did he know, and how were these reports handled? Jess Phillips was written to by Oldham requesting action on a grooming gang inquiry and did not acknowledge the letter. Why? You also have Labour Councillor Amanda Chadderton, who downplayed the issue at council level, and later moved into a role in Westminster working with Yvette Cooper. Why? This is about accountability. Is this coincidence or does it run deeper? Victims deserve the truth!

I’ve read your explanation, but it still doesn’t really add up. If this was “a matter of course”, why does the report say the case was mistakenly referred to a team that protects MPs rather than being handled as a criminal matter? That suggests something went wrong, not standard process.

I have seen your various posts. To be clear, the referral to parliament in this case was done as a matter of course as we would any safeguarding concerns, even historic ones. This was in addition to support we provided in representations to the police, social services and others over a long period of time, and not instead of it.
