Earlier today, Israel dropped over 160 bombs across areas in Lebanon within 10 minutes. The IDF describes this assault as part of a new operation they named “Eternal Darkness” claiming they are targeting Hezbollah sites. Civilian apartment buildings have been completely destroyed with reports of hundreds of deaths.

Director Kent is entitled to resign on a matter of principle. He is not entitled, however, to falsely smear Israel on his way out by abusing the tragic death of his wife. Shannon Kent died not in a "war manufactured by Israel," but at the hands of ISIS in Syria in 2019. The only thing manufactured here is her husband's disgusting attempt to blame Israel for his terrible loss. And blaming Israel for US wars in both Iraq and now Iran is a tail wagging the dog trope that is as transparent as it is false. If the Director of the National Counterterrorism Center cannot recognize the Islamic Republic's role in spreading terrorism that threatens both Americans and the rest of the world, then maybe he shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

Capitol Police were attempting to remove an unhinged protestor from the Armed Services hearing. He was fighting back. I decided to help out and deescalate the situation. This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.
