We need more SAS in medical management. Helena is an absolutely amazing manager AND a jobbing SAS anaesthetist @uclh. Inspiring to hear her story.

It is also still very, very raw. It is unfathomable that in the years of recovery since that we have been embroiled in constant dispute about terms, conditions and value of our Doctors and healthcare staff.

One of the areas I have been trying to flag for some time has been the issue of exploitation of International Medical Graduates - under “Locally Employed Doctor” posts across the NHS- whether when working on race issues in medical workforce for @NHSEngland or role in @RCPhysicians Glad @bmj_latest has finally lifted the lid on this one Every Trust knows what they are doing- as do @NHSEmployers and @NHSE_WTE - which is why a national contract has always been resisted A quick note- again to many leaders in workforce planning IMGs aren’t here to be exploited or run the NHS for others Absolute shame on those who have facilitated this over many years.
