This is epic! The Ministry of Defence has released the dramatic bodycam footage from one of the paratroopers who plunged onto Tristan da Cuhna to deliver emergency medical supplies. From the dizzying heights leaping out of the A400M transporter before punching through the clouds and navigating away from the ocean to hit the tiny landing zone, it's great. A curious feature of Starmer’s politics is a set of pet obsessions that sit awkwardly with the priorities of the British public. Most notably, he has pushed hard on weakening Britain’s territorial sovereignty, not least the now-abandoned decision to hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius. More recently, his government has sought to "reset" relations with the European Union, reopening old wounds that Brexit was meant to have closed. And perhaps most galling is his legislation exposing British servicemen to vexatious legal action for their service in Northern Ireland. The idea that this man is some sort of super-patriot is absurd to the point of parody.
