Could cutting out meat lower your cancer risk? The largest study ever conducted on vegetarian diets and cancer has found that people who avoid meat may have a noticeably lower risk of several major cancers. Researchers from Oxford Population Health analysed data from more than 1.8 million people across three continents and discovered some striking patterns. The study found vegetarians had a 31% lower risk of multiple myeloma, a 28% lower risk of kidney cancer, and a 21% lower risk of pancreatic cancer compared with regular meat eaters. Smaller reductions were also seen in prostate cancer at 12% and breast cancer at 9%. Researchers say these findings suggest that plant-focused diets could play an important role in long-term health. However, the results were not the same for every cancer type. No major differences were seen in 12 other cancers, including lung and stomach cancer. The study also found that vegans may have a higher risk of colorectal cancer, while vegetarians showed an increased risk of one form of oesophageal cancer, possibly linked to lower levels of certain nutrients commonly found in animal products. Health experts stress that balance still matters most. Current advice recommends limiting red meat intake to less than 18 ounces per week and avoiding processed meats such as bacon and deli meats, while building meals around vegetables, beans, whole grains, fruits, nuts, and seeds. With millions of vegetarians already living in the United States, researchers believe this study offers some of the strongest evidence yet on how diet choices may influence both cancer risk and the wider healthcare burden. Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality. There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it! I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America. OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.
