¿Cuánto 💵 costo la calle Chiriboga? Como si nada, una pequeña calle de #Guayaquil, ubicada a un costado de la Casona Universitaria (calle Chile), fue entregada en comodato y ahora es una pequeña plaza comercial. La @alcaldiagye se ha dedicado a entregar parqueos y parterres a empresarios chinos. Lo hizo también en la avenida Olmedo📹. Lo ha hecho con la venia de los concejales. Ya en la Bahía se comenta que el hospital del Bicentario y el edifico de la CTE se convertirán en centros comerciales. Curioso cómo aparecen “soluciones” que siempre apuntan a expandir la ciudad… antes de arreglar lo que ya no funciona a la interna. Proponen nuevo aeropuerto, anillos viales, más conexión hacia afuera… para que los panas ya no pasen por Guayaquil olvidado y vayan directo al aeropuerto y a la playa. pero adentro seguimos con caos, tráfico y desorden. Guayaquil no necesita crecer más… necesita orden, arreglarlo desde adentro.

Me he sacado la madre. El asambleísta de ADN, Dominique Serrano, pone en su rendición de cuentas de lo hecho en 2025, como si fuera la gran cosa, que tuvo 78 asistencias al Pleno, de las cuales en solo una ocasión pidió hablar. Y de remate, agrega que hizo uso del sistema de votación electrónica durante las sesiones del Pleno de la Asamblea. No contento con eso, le suma que presentó su declaración de impuesto a la renta y demás obligaciones tributarias. De no creer.

No se trata de kilómetros. Se trata de conexión. Ser guayaquileño no es solo decirlo… es vivir la ciudad. Puedes estar a 5 minutos… y completamente desconectado de su realidad. Porque haces tu vida en otro lado… vives allá, sales allá, comes allá, compras allá. Y por eso no ves lo que pasa acá… Esa “poca distancia” de la casa al escritorio es justamente la que crea la desconexión. Gobernar no es “saber de gestión” desde lejos. Es entender cómo vive la gente, porque tú también lo vives. Porque hay quienes no pisan el centro, no caminan el Malecón, no van a sus parques ni a sus mercados. No comen en sus huecas, no recorren sus cerros, no conocen sus barrios. No saben su historia. Muchos solo cruzan el puente para ir a la playa, otros para el estadio… y algunos para trabajar. El resto del tiempo, su vida está en otra parte. Y así pretenden entender Guayaquil.

Hay muchos que ya están listos para aportar. Pero la política es tan sucia que la mayoría prefiere quedarse en las sombras, ayudando desde sus trincheras… y eso no alcanza. Guayaquil necesita a alguien que la ame de verdad. Que ame sus calles, su historia, sus cerros, su estero, su gente. Que no lo diga, que lo viva. Que la sufra. Que la entienda. No alguien que quiera poder, sino alguien que quiera dejar huella… para bien. Ese día llegará. El próximo alcalde de Guayaquil debe vivir en la ciudad. No se puede amar lo que solo se usa como oficina.

Para 1840, la esperanza de vida apenas había subido a 35. Y eso que todo era “orgánico”: aire puro, agua sin procesar y animales de libre pastoreo. Aun así, la gente moría joven. Lo que realmente disparó la expectativa de vida no fue la “vida natural”, sino la ciencia: vacunas, antibióticos, saneamiento, tecnología médica y conocimiento acumulado. Por eso las expectativas razonables deben alinearse con lo que muestra la evidencia científica. Y si algo enseña la historia es esto: cada vez que confiamos en la evidencia, avanzamos; cada vez que la ignoramos, retrocedemos.

Every American should read it. February 11th. Netanyahu arrives at the White House for a classified Situation Room briefing. Mossad on the screens behind him. He plays Trump a video montage of potential new Iranian leaders, including the exiled son of the Shah. He tells Trump regime change is within reach. The missile program can be destroyed in weeks. Iran won't be able to close Hormuz. Retaliation against U.S. interests would be "minimal." Trump's response: "Sounds good to me." Every single one of those assurances turned out to be wrong. Iran closed Hormuz. Retaliation hit six countries. The missile program survived underground. The regime consolidated power instead of collapsing. And 44 days later, Trump accepted a ceasefire on Iranian terms. February 26th. The final Situation Room meeting. Trump goes around the table. Vance: "You know I think this is a bad idea, but if you want to do it, I'll support you." Rubio: "If the goal is regime change, we shouldn't do it." Cheung, the comms director, warned it contradicted everything they'd said for eight months about Iranian nuclear facilities being destroyed. The CIA director said regime change was possible "if we just mean killing the supreme leader." Nobody said no. Everyone deferred to the president's instincts. The Treasury Secretary and Energy Secretary, the two people who would need to manage the largest oil supply disruption in history, weren't even in the room. 🇮🇷🇺🇸 The ceasefire is less than 24 hours old and it's already being torn apart over Lebanon... Here's the situation. Pakistan announced the ceasefire applied "everywhere, including Lebanon." Iran agreed on that basis. Then Netanyahu called Trump minutes before the announcement and got him to agree Lebanon was excluded. The White House never clarified publicly until it was too late. Vance called it a "legitimate misunderstanding." That's a generous way of describing what happened. Iran entered a ceasefire believing Lebanon was included. Israel entered knowing it wasn't. Someone either miscommunicated or deliberately let Iran sign a deal under false assumptions. The result: Israel launched its largest strike on Lebanon since the war began. Iran is now threatening to withdraw from Saturday's talks and close Hormuz again. Araghchi put it plainly: "The U.S. must choose. Ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both." Egypt accused Israel of a "premeditated" attempt to undermine the truce. Iranian news agencies report oil tankers in Hormuz were stopped after the Lebanon strikes. Vance says Israel "offered to check themselves a little bit" going forward. If Iran pulls out over Lebanon, he said, "that would be dumb but that's their choice." Esto es espectacular. Como los tiquetes aéreos a Madrid superaban los 900 euros, un club de fans del Bayern se organizó y entre 180 hinchas alquilaron un avión.
