Great insight from @CoachBobChesney: Success makes you comfortable, and comfort is where sharp edges dull and blind spots grow. Failure humbles you, and humility is where growth begins... So the way you respond to failure subtly determines the level of success you'll have.

“ Do not put your work off till tomorrow and the day after; for a sluggish worker does not fill his barn, nor one who puts off his work: industry makes work go well, but a man who puts off work is always at hand grips with ruin.” -The Greek Poet Hesiod

You don’t have to be in the biggest role, you just have to be the best in the one you're in. Greatness isn’t about status or size, it’s about how fully you show up where you are. Reinvent yourself, reestablish norms. Your 100% is relative to others. Be a ⭐️ in your role!

Your life is ultimately measured by your outcomes, not your intentions. It is not about what you wanted to do or would have done but didn’t have the time. It’s not about why you thought you couldn’t; it’s just whether or not you eventually did. When we have a goal, dream, or plan, there is no measure of intent. It is only whether you did it or did not. Any other reason you offer for not showing up and doing the work is simply you stating that you prioritize that reason over your ultimate ambition, which means that it will always take precedence in your life. You may also be using excuses to help navigate away from uncomfortable feelings that are ultimately necessary for your growth!

Loved this answer from Iowa Coach Ben McCollum: 👨‍🍳 Preparation is an Identity, Not an Event 😳 The Moment Exposes, It Doesn’t Create 📈Consistency Compounds Into Confidence If your team only locks in when it “matters,” you’ve already lost. The standard HAS to exist before the spotlight!

“You guys make it about the wins and losses. 25 years from now, I want them to pick up the phone and call me because they need me. I’m there for them.” The life of a coach is an investment in people, not just points. Build a legacy that outlasts the jersey.

Imposter syndrome isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. It happens when awareness outgrows your certainty. The more you “see” or know, the more you realize you DON’T know, and that tension is where great leaders are forged. Don’t wait for confidence— Act! Because action kills doubt.

@tsnmike NET is just a sorting tool for measuring the quality of wins/losses. The number by itself has very little impact on selection criteria. Would almost be “double counting” if it did.

Why are so many coaches still of the opinion that their NET matters to their selection or seeding? SMU was 37 in NET. They were the last team in. Indiana was 41. Not selected. UCF was 51, behind 6 teams that missed.
