it’s terrifying how fast people normalize war. iran is still being bombed. innocent people are still dying every day. we saw it with gaza, with lebanon. outrage fades, timelines reset, and everything just gets normalized.

Even today there are tombs to be opened, and often the stones sealing them are so heavy and so closely guarded that they seem to be immovable. Some weigh heavily on the human heart, such as mistrust, fear, selfishness and resentment; others, stemming from these inner struggles, sever the bonds between us through war, injustice and the isolation of peoples and nations. ICE has also killed a Black man named Keith Porter, a Cambodian named Parady La, and five Latinos named Heber Sanchaz Domínguez, Victor Manuel Diaz, Luis Beltran Yanez-Cruz, Luis Gustavo Nunez Caceres, and Geraldo Lunas Campos. ICE is on pace to kill more than 100 people this year. Abolish ICE. Impeach Noem. Prosecute those who committed these crimes.

Listen, I know this is terrifying. I know it’s heartbreaking. I know you’re sick of the videos and the headlines and the doom hovering in the periphery of your days. I know you’re even sick of people like me telling you you need to make a choice, but you do. History is recording these moments, and yes, they are clarifying who we are as a nation, but they are illuminating something far deeper, something much closer than that. They are a mirror to you and to me, revealing in great detail the harshly lit truth of our own hearts that we are forced to reckon with. I’m not here to judge you, I’m really not. i’ve become so numb to what’s going on that sometimes i forget that it’s essential to keep talking about it. what ICE is doing in this country is cruel and inhumane. this is not doing anything to make anyone safer. it’s about entering neighborhoods and using fear and violence to exert control. thinking of everyone who has targeted or harassed. you all deserve better. this country deserves better.

🚨BREAKING: ICE/Border Patrol agents are now hitting unaccompanied minors with their vehicles, detaining and disappearing them, even after being shown a U.S. passport. Yesterday, agents rear-ended a car being driven by a 16-year-old, with her 15-year-old brother in the passenger seat. Instead of calling a guardian, agents photographed the 15-year-old… and then took him. The 16-year-old showed agents her U.S. passport…. But, that did not matter, they still handcuffed her and threw her into their unmarked car. Both minors. Both unaccompanied. Detaining children, ignoring proof of citizenship, and hauling minors away, after rear ending the car they were driving, is not immigration enforcement. That is child trafficking. And it’s happening in broad daylight by the Trump administration. Share this. Document everything. Demand accountability. Because if federal agents can do this to kids with a passport, no one is safe.
