🇱🇧🇮🇱 Hezbollah is telling the Lebanese government to stop sitting on the fence, pick a side or get buried by the escalation. This is also Hezbollah publicly declaring that negotiations are pointless, which is a direct contradiction of everything Iran is supposedly doing in Washington right now. Tehran is at the table. Their proxy is telling Beirut that tables are for fools. @GeoPWatch

🇮🇷🇮🇱🇦🇪 Iran is claiming Israel ran false flag drone attacks against the UAE to drag the Emirates into the conflict. The UAE hosts major US military bases, has a fragile neutrality in this war, and has been one of the few stable economic corridors left in the region. If true, Israel was trying to open a fourth front. If false, Iran is trying to drive a wedge between the US and one of its most important Gulf partners. Either way someone is playing a very dirty game in Emirati airspace. Source: Tasnim News

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷🇶🇦 BREAKING: Qatar just broke the deadlock on Iran's frozen assets. A source familiar with the Doha talks says Qatari mediation has produced an understanding between the U.S. and Iran on Tehran's frozen funds, one of the biggest issues holding up the final agreement. A full U.S.-Iran deal is now expected to be announced tomorrow. Qatar has been working this for days in Doha. The frozen assets were one of Iran's hardest lines from day one and Doha just moved it. Nuclear language is still the other piece, but with the money question resolved, the path to a deal just got a lot clearer. If this holds, tomorrow is a very different kind of day. Source: Al Jazeera

🇶🇦🇮🇷 Qatar is offering Iran $12 billion the moment they sign. They call it a humanitarian loan. Sounds more like a signing bonus. Doha has made itself indispensable to every party in this conflict simultaneously, mediating for the US, funding Iran, hosting Hamas, basing American forces.

Told @Reuters: Trump is trying to sell an Iran deal as an Abraham Accords sequel: good for Israel, good for the region, tough enough for Washington. But he is trading one fantasy for another—from forcing Iran to surrender to pretending a fragile deal can anchor a new Middle East order. reuters.com/world/middle-e…

Pope Leo has issued a stark warning about AI in his first encyclical. Cardinal Czerny tells me "Pope Leo the 13th issued his call for the protection of human dignity without real dialog with those who were imperiling that dignity. This time Pope Leo (the 14th) is issuing the warnings in dialog with those who are responsible for AI... this is an extraordinary step forward."

🇮🇱🇱🇧 Israel is moving toward a significant escalation in Lebanon. Netanyahu and Defence Minister Katz are leaning toward approving a broad IDF offensive targeting Hezbollah infrastructure, with a plan already formulated and ready to execute. The key detail: the proposed fire policy change would allow strikes on "Hezbollah-linked" structures, a classification wide enough to dramatically expand the target list beyond known military sites. No approval yet. But the plan is on the table and the green light could come fast. Source: Channel 14

🇮🇱 Smotrich approved $700 million for drone defense and called it insufficient in the same breath. For every drone that hits Israel, ten buildings in Beirut should fall. He said it clearly and chose those words in front of a camera. He signed the budget, then made clear the shields are just the beginning. The offensive campaign is the actual strategy. Smotrich is using a defense budget to make an offensive argument. That's a political move as much as a military one. Source: Reuters

🇮🇱 🇸🇾 “Those fears may not be unfounded: in April, Israel’s government approved a $334 million, multi-year plan to expand settlements in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. The project seeks to bring about 3,000 additional Israeli settler families to the area by 2030.” @HalaGorani
