Pretty devastating news for Texas Tech Football. In terms of how the NCAA deals with situations like this, they’re strict. The NCAA has adopted a strict stance on gambling, that could result in permanent loss of eligibility for student-athletes who bet on their own games or engage in point-shaving. An ongoing NCAA investigation is already underway. Here is Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire’s official statement -“We love Brendan and support his decision to seek professional help,” McGuire said. “Taking this step requires courage, and our primary focus is on him as a person. Our program is behind Brendan as he prioritizes his health”.
