This year, Kellenberg Memorial's National Honor Society partnered with Bright Future School in Kasule, Uganda—a new Catholic school serving Nursery through First Grade students with very limited resources. In just 7 days: ✨ $3,500 raised toward building their new school 🎒 240 backpacks packed with essential supplies 📦 Extra classroom materials collected for teachers Each backpack holds more than supplies—it holds opportunity. The true spirit of Marianist hospitality. As our seniors traveled to Madrid they stopped at their second Marianist school, Colegio Nuestra Señora del Pilar, and shared in the rich tradition of Marianist education. You may even see some patriotic Firebird shirts being worn by our fellow Marianist students!!

Fourteen medals later and our Science Olympiad Team has qualified for the state tournament!

Huge shoutout to our dedicated STEM scholars—Ava Birne, Talene Mastacciuola, Brooke Oldenborg, and Lauren Reyes—who have been hard at work in the lab. These students are conducting specialized research and design for the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC) in an exciting partnership with Chaminade High School. Beyond their own engineering work, these leaders are also spreading their passion for the STEM field by mentoring our Tyros during their lab sessions. It takes incredible focus and technical skill to compete at this level, and we are so proud to see our Firebirds inspiring the next generation of scientists. Go get ‘em, engineers!! And today just happens to be International Day of Women and Girls in Science!!

A celebration of Black History Month at Kellenberg Memorial. The One Heart, One Mind, Many Cultures Club has sponsored a number of great events so far. We thank Sofia Madison Nemorin '26 and Abigail Fourrien '26 for their presentation on the history. We thank Victoria White '28 for creating an engaging Kahoot to learn about history and culture. We were entertained by one of our newest clubs, the Kellenberg Memorial Step Team.

Iggy has a lot to tell us about how the Latin School has been quite busy. Recently we held a Founder's Day celebration for our squires followed by our annual Winter Wonderland Dance.

Today we celebrate our Founders’ Day, honoring Blessed William Joseph Chaminade and Blessed Adèle de Batz de Trenquelléon. Their courage, faith, and trust in Mary continue to guide our mission and inspire our community to form hearts grounded in Christ. The Business & Finance Club officially launched their Bloomberg Certification Program! Our students traveled to Molloy University to begin their Bloomberg Market Concepts training. This is an important milestone on their path into the world of finance. The day began with a warm welcome from Joe Porter, Dean of the Business School, followed by an engaging presentation on What Is Finance? led by Gioia Bales, Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Program Director. After receiving their Bloomberg logins, students jumped right into their first module on Economic Indicators, learning how to analyze the data that drives global markets. With hands-on experience using the Bloomberg Terminal, our students are building real-world skills and confidence that will serve them well far beyond the classroom. At Kellenberg Memorial our learning takes us to opportunities beyond our own campus.

Over 200 freshmen and sophomores enjoyed an evening of fun, fellowship and time spent in adoration for our annual Evening of Recollection. We thank Rev. James Mary Ritch, O.P. from St. Barnabas Parish for his witness to our students.

Inspired by Christ’s command to love, Dr. King reminded us that justice rooted in charity can transform hearts and heal nations.

Kellenberg Memorial has engaged with our sophomores and juniors in a new civics course!!! They sponsored a gently used shoe drive with St. Vincent Paul Society. Thanks to all who donated.

A celebration of Haiti and their Independence Day through food and celebration. Yesterday, the One Heart, One Mind Many Cultures Club welcomed back alums Danielle Thomas (2020), Vanessa Pierre-Louis (2012), and Hyllary Jean-Baptiste (2020) to present and share the rich heritage of Haiti. We would also like to thank Bebe Fritay Xpress in Baldwin for donating all the delicious food. 🔥🐥🇭🇹

Welcome back Firebirds!! With grateful hearts, we close the Jubilee Year and open a new trimester of learning—rooted in faith, inspired by hope, and united in the mission of Kellenberg Memorial.

The Christmas Vigil Mass ... not only filling the auditorium with our Firebird Family, past and present, but reminding us about the reason for the season, the birth of our Lord and Savior. May we all continue to reflect on the joy of Christmas on this beautiful snowy morning.

Recently our senior history classes had the opportunity to learn from SGT Steven Snyder, Unit Historian from the 42nd Infantry Division Band of the New York Army National Guard. They also had the opportunity to learn about the role of the Harlem Hellfighters during World War I.

The season of giving and generosity continues at Kellenberg Memorial. Over 1,100 toys were delivered this week to the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park thanks to our Bro Joseph C Fox Latin Schoolers and the National Junior Honor Society.
