The silent is the only character i haven't been able to win with in sts2, just have not been able to scrap together a win no matter what. Finally actually manage to get to a winning play, pause to do basic math. Computer freezes and crashes. Its a joke. its just a joke

This was like the only character i could consistantly win with in 1 and now im in some sort of shiv-themed sisyphus situation. how am i better at the regent than silent now. what happened

@MatologMeatball Honestly her biggest weakness in STS1 was just that it was very easy to be countered by some bosses (fuck that snail), which I don't think she has an issue with 2. Its a skill issue on my part but its just funny to me that Im struggling with my old main shes NOT that different 😔

@Kelocitta Oh, that's interesting. I always thought that the first phases of making a build as Silent in the first game were very difficult due to how hard it is to pivor into some functional build and how little directly damaging options she has. I thought she had more of those in STS2?

@Catallion1 She was my best in sts1 which is why im kinda surprised at just how much of a lose streak I have with her... The deck ive got right now is admittedly maybe the most jank poorly put together mess yet and its winning (barely), so luck of the draw always applies i suppose

@Kelocitta Huh, silent has been my most consistent, though I've consistently accomplished sly bullshit with them, but I've still pulled off all of their main gimmicks.

@Sakerift Besides obvious ones (difficulty options) I see it pop up sometimes for series adding things to a preexisting formula, qol options, people complaining games are not made to their exact preferences. But its a bad argument for complaints about how mechanics are actually executed

"You control the buttons you press" was a really good statement about a specific kind of issue that now gets wrongfully applied to literally anything about how a game mechanic works, ruining any and all discussion forever. It will happen again

@archorangejuice At the same time though, while I could see someone being annoyed with the birds easily, thats an element of the game thats not too important overall. An annoying mechanic, but one yo can certainly play without putting too much focus on with other tools + skill

@Kelocitta @castlecrasherzs It's made even worse by the fact that items like the Ancient Potion and Max Potion no longer max out your health and stamina like they used to in previous games, which was likely done to prevent players from ignoring the birds altogether.

@MVolge4977 Its not contradicting anything because I wasn't commenting on the damn ice grenade or whatever, but rather that in many cases its fine to say that an option simply isn't for you as a player and that applying it to literally every complaint about game design doesn't work

@MVolge4977 the better wording would be more 'is a good statement for a specific kind of issue' i dont give a shit about Doom Eternal or its specific problems, it applies nicely to shit like difficulty toggles or other things that literally can be ignored without effecting the core game
