“We’ve known for years that the neglect of our school buildings is harmful to the point of being a crime. This agreement is one step toward the transparency and accountability that Philadelphia families have always deserved.” gridphilly.com/blog-home/2025…

I'm proud to be part of @LocalProgress, a movement of local elected officials advancing racial and economic justice in cities and towns across the country. We support one another, share ideas, and lead on policies that make a difference in the lives of working families.
Local Progress@LocalProgress

Some people enter local politics because of their passion for policy, and some because their community calls them to serve. With over 1500 members in our network, there's a unique story for each one on how they ended up as a local representative. Hear a few of them 👇

Thank you to all the patients, providers, and advocates who came to City Hall yesterday to call on City Council’s Committee on Public Health to hold a hearing on this pressing issue. I will continue to fight alongside you until funding is restored.

Across the country, clinics are closing, leaving women with fewer and fewer options for safe, professional medical care. Here in Philadelphia, we must step up.

Every year since Roe v Wade was overturned, Philadelphia has provided at least half a million dollars in direct funding to reproductive health organizations. But in the FY26 budget, our City cut funding to zero. whyy.org/articles/abort…

Tonight! Come out to discuss the deployment of the National Guard in cities across America and learn how we can prepare here in Philly. It’s up to all of us to defend our democracy and keep each other safe.

@abortionfundpa Last week, I convened a meeting of the City’s Reproductive Freedom Task Force, and providers shared the real, heartbreaking consequences of funding shortages. We can’t stand by while Philadelphians lose access to abortion and other critical health services.

In 2024, I fought for the first-ever City funding for @plannedparenthood of Southeastern PA along with additional funding for menstrual wellness and @abortionfundpa. But that funding was not included in the most recent budget proposal, which is one of the reasons I voted no.

I've always argued that reproductive freedom is a local issue. Other cities are stepping up to fill gaps left by federal cuts, but Philly is falling short. We can’t stand by while Philadelphians lose access to abortion and other critical health services. thephiladelphiacitizen.org/guest-commenta…
