Hirys! (✧ᴗ✧) It’s another beautiful day for an @irys_xyz “Did you know” episode and for today we’d be looking at what’s called the “Challenge-Response Verifiability” on Irys Did you know?? Most storage networks assume miners are honest once they’ve “proven” data at the start. After that, they’re trusted to keep the data forever. This might sound good but it means the doors are open for miners to delete files once they’re paid or claiming they store multiple copy files when they don’t. Irys fixes this with an open challenge system. - Any participant can issue a challenge at any time - The miner must produce the exact cryptographic proof of the requested data segment within a strict window - If they fail, their stake gets slashed and rewards forfeited.
